Michelle Pernell
Owner/Speech-Language Pathologist
Michelle has been a licensed speech-language pathologist for 20 years. She completed two years of specialized training at UNC-Chapel Hill with focus on providing communication services for children under 5 years of age and their families. Prior to obtaining her Masters Degree she graduated from Wake Forest University and spent her summers working with children with special needs. Michelle also served on the faculty at Western Carolina University as a clinical supervisor and assistant program director for four years. She lives in Hendersonville with her husband, two daughters, two dogs, one frog and one hamster.
Xochitl D. Skora
Bi-Lingual Speech Pathology Assistant
Xoch (‘Sosh’) has been a Speech Pathology Assistant for over ten years. She also holds a Bachelors of Science in Early Childhood Education. She speaks Spanish fluently and enjoys providing communication therapy in both languages. Her areas of interest include pediatric speech and language development, children on the autism spectrum, developmental delays and focusing on a holistic approach to treatment incorporating family and children. She is also trained in the Floortime Method. Xoch has experience working in several settings including: schools, private clinics, daycares and homes. Her areas of interest include marketing, reading and travel. She has recently relocated from Hope Mills, NC. Xoch and her husband Mark reside with their two sons, Peanut butter the dog and a hedgehog named Shadow.
Abby Waller
Speech-Language Pathologist
Abby Waller is a Speech-Language Pathologist from Atlanta, Georgia. She obtained her undergraduate degree in Psychology and spent several years working with children with mental health issues before receiving her graduate degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Western Carolina University. She works with children with a variety of communication concerns. She provides assessment, treatment, and consultation to children and their families. Abby lives in Asheville with her husband, daughter, and their therapy dog Teddy.
